Week 10 - April 15 - 19, 2002

April 15.....Tax day. I left Portland Oregon at 4:30am local time and flew into Houston. Jan met me at the airport with a change of clothes so I could just continue on to Oklahoma. It was after 5:00pm when I arrived, but I got there in time to clean up the floors and have it ready for the crew the next day. They had already framed the interior walls. Most of them had bracing up, so it was a little hard to tell exactly what you were looking at.

April 16.....6:45am the crew showed up and installed the last few floor joists and the flooring for the second level. They took a lunch break about 10:45am and one of the guys yelled "I just got hit by a raindrop!" Well, that shut down the job for the day. There was a slight drizzle that lasted for about one hour then blew over. There is no rain in the forcast for tomorrow, so hopefully I can get a full day's work out of the framers. If so, I would expect to finish the floor and have at least two of the exterior walls up. (One on the West side and the other on the East side.) If that happens, then the place will start to look somewhat like an actual house. Regardless, the sunsets are still breathtaking. There wasn't much to clean up after only a few hours work, but hopefully a lot will get done tomorrow. We'll see...........

April 18...Hello this is Chris again. I recieved a bunch of pictures from dad yesterday. It seems that the house is moving along quite nicely. Mom and Dad will be in Oklahoma next week so we should be getting plenty of updates. Hopefully, I can keep up with updating the website. Enjoy the pictures.
