Week 24 - July 22-26, 2002

July 26….. Jan and I met our friends Joe and Peggy Morris from Amarillo at the property. Joe and Peg are building a house and hangar in Amarillo, Tx. Joe will have his own runway for his Maule. The Maule is about the only airplane that can take off and land in the 700 feet available on the runway. Their house is located with a major street on one end of the runway and a drop off to Palo Duro Canyon on the other end. Joe and Peg gave us a ride back to Tulsa in the Maule today so we could get back to Houston and back to work.

The fireplace finally got some rock on it and it looks great! We also got almost all of the sheetrock on the ceilings. The place is starting to really look like a house now on the inside.
One of the reasons that Joe came up was to look at the various hangar doors that are available in this area. I have been planning on putting in a particular door that was developed years ago by a local designer. If you are interested in hangar doors, go to the hangar section of the website and I will try to take some pictures of the door and its design and post those as well.
