Week 36 - October 14-18, 2002

The painter has had two full days to finish the exterior paint and by the time we arrive on Wednesday it looks great! Finally the house begins to look like the picture we have carried with us all this time. The shingles look even better with the trim and siding colors and the green roof and windows add the perfect compliment. See for yourself…

Charlie and I meet with Judd and the plumber on the location of the bathroom in the hangar. The footings and piers have already been poured and the sewer drain is in place, not exactly where we wanted it, but we will have to work around it. With additional plumbing needed, the concrete can't be poured until next week. They will pour half one day and half the next with an expansion joint in the middle.

My brother and his wife stop for a visit on Thursday and we have a wonderful time sightseeing and enjoy a sunset on the deck. We were lucky to have a dry, sunny day between all the rain. A delivery of 750 board feet of hard maple means more planing on Friday to have it ready for Judd to continue the trim work. He gets a call that the cabinet doors are ready but with rain all day Friday, we will have to wait until next week to see how the cabinets are going to look. Charlie has yet another trade show in Washington so we fly back to Houston on Saturday where our youngest, Stephen is home from college for the weekend.
