Thanksgiving week….Well, I guess we can officially give up on having Thanksgiving in the house. That was our original plan back in March. We did go to Oklahoma. Jan and Chris drove up in the Sport Track to take a load of boxes including sinks, faucets, etc. I stayed in Houston for a couple of days and waited for Stephen to get out of school. We left Wednesday on Continental and flew to Tulsa where I am now keeping the truck in employee parking for just such an occasion. |

| Chris and Jan made good use of the time to sand a lot of the wood trim in the house in preparation for the painter. Chris also solved a trim problem. We had trouble deciding how to finish the trim over the Anderson doors. It seems that the Anderson doors are shorter than normal doors, so the maple band around the first floor had to be adjusted. Jan, Judd and I decided to just bring the band up to meet the corner of the door as per the picture on the left. Chris thought that looked to weird, so he suggested we overlap the band by the width of the door trim as per the picture on the right. Thanks Chris! | |

| We had a good Thanksgiving dinner with my Mom, Jan, Chris, Stephen and me. Chris and Stephen left on the airline to go back to Houston while Jan and I stayed to try and finish the sanding. (Man, there is a lot of wood in this house!) At least we didn't have to sand the drawers! The sanding did make a big difference though. Even the arched window in Mom's room turned out great! | |

| The painter delivered some of the 1 inch trim that is stained a cherry color to match the kitchen cabinets. We were anxious to get that in place so we could get a feel for how the house will look when finished. | |

| Jan and I hope to come back next week to visit with the lawyer on the hangar issue and go to Ft. Smith, Arkansas to see flooring samples and make some decisions there. | |
