Merry Christmas! We had Christmas in Houston with my mother. Jan's big gift was………you guessed it………a granite countertop! That's OK because my big gift was the hangar door. Jan, Chris and Stephen flew to Amarillo on the 27th to be with her family and celebrate a late Christmas. They have been following the website and Jan was excited to bring home a surprise gift from her niece, Kim and Kim's husband Vince. A new bear from the Big Sky Carver's collection! "Colter". We can't wait to get moved in and find the perfect spot for him. |

I picked up a trip with Continental that had a long layover in Tulsa and went out to the house. The hangar door is in place and all the metal siding is on the building. It also appears that the granite people showed up with the top for the island and kitchen counter. We are a little surprised they made it since the day they were to deliver the granite, they received 7 inches of snow. The granite looks great! |

I arrived just in time to see the painters cleaning up and to help Judd unload a truck full of wood flooring and tile. We plan on going back to the property on New Year's day. The flooring people should have some of the tile down and the electrician should be well on his way to finishing the electrical. Hopefully, the hangar door will be operating by the end of the week and the concrete guys will have started pouring the ramp in front of the hangar. We were happy to hear from our new friends in Stillwell, Walt and Linda Smith. They are moved into their new home and really enjoying it. Click here to see pictures of their house. We hear so many horror stories of people building a house that have had problems with the builder, it is nice to hear from someone who has had a great experience like we have had with Judd Knowles. To finish a job of this size and still be close friends with the builder says a lot about the builder. Walt and Linda asked me to post information for anyone moving into the area that is looking for a great builder (since Judd is probably going to try and sneak back into retirement), you should contact their builder John Latta and Sons Construction. John's phone number is 918-696-2841. Walt and Linda can't say enough nice things about him. I have also had good reports on John Latta's work from other pilots in the area that have used him in the past. Next week, we hope to have pictures of what should appear to be a finished house. (I may have to do some creative photo work, but hopefully not too much.) |
