Happy New Year!

On New Year's Eve I met Charlie at the airport as he was coming in from flying an all-nighter from Las Vegas, he quickly changed out of his uniform and we flew on to Tulsa. We stopped at a great place called Garbe's to check on a strike plate we needed for our front door. Although the strike plate would have to be ordered, we did find a wonderful collection of lighting fixtures and purchased several more for vanities and ceilings. (All Christmas glassware was 50% off, a bonus for me!) At the house, the painters were moved out so we readied the floors for tile and wood. We worked with Judd to put the drawer fronts on and add knobs and pulls. It was great to bring out the knobs that we had purchased so many months ago at a warehouse sale and discover that they fit in just as we had hoped. Charlie hung the brass telephone sign that Chris (the webmaster) found for us on e-bay!

By Friday the tile was being laid and lighting fixtures were being installed. The electricians had started installing switches and plugs but they were the wrong color. (Seems there are two off-white colors in the world of electrical outlets: ivory or almond.) We wanted the lighter of the two which is almond contrary to what one might think! Grout color had to be decided and we made a trip to Ft. Smith to pick that up and also buy more ceiling fans and doorknobs for interior doors.
