This Week

Sunday Friday

there will be a Special Series of Assemblies

Besides the regular times of meeting today, assemblies will also take place
Each Evening at 7:30 p.m.
and
Wednesday morning at 10:00 a.m.

Ross Triplett will be presenting the lessons.
Ross preaches in Sparks, Nevada. Sparks is adjoined to Reno, Nevada, like Humble is to Houston. Ross also serves as an elder in the church there. His wife, Bobbi, will accompany him. Ross is the brother of Roena Legg. The Rand McNally Road Atlas says it is 1,924 miles from Reno to Houston. We have asked Ross to come a long way to be with us in this special effort. Letıs be present for each lesson, listen carefully and discernedly to the things Ross will teach from Godıs Word, and use this opportunity to get to know and appreciate Ross and Bobbi for their faith, love, and service in the kingdom of God.

These assemblies provide a special opportunity to sing, pray together, encourage one another, and be strengthened by studies from the Word of God. This is a special week ‹ letıs  take advantage of the opportunities it affords.

What Can I Do?

Be here - Ross will be teaching nine lessons (three on Sunday, five in the evenings of the week, and one on Wednesday morning). If possible, plan to take advantage of each opportunity to learn, be edified, and encourage your spiritual family. Though schedules make it difficult for some, if you can try to arrive a few minutes early in order to visit with your brethren and get settled before time to begin.
Be a good listener - Come prepared with Bible and note pad if you like to take notes. Listen attentively, courteously, and discernedly. Determine to be a "doer of the word, and not merely hearers" (Jam. 1:22).
Train your children - to be good listeners if they are old enough. To be quiet so others can listen and worship. To look on these opportunities in a positive way‹talk about them positively; be involved in the weekıs activities; discuss the week and the lessons with your children.
Invite others - Announcements and "An Invitation" are available in the foyer. Many have never heard the unadulterated word of truth preached in a plain and straightforward way. It may open the door to further studies.
Pray - for the success of the meeting. For the health and strength of all who participate.

News of Interest
All classes except the annex, the 2-3 year olds, and the 4 year-kindergarten classes will come into the auditorium this morning. All classes will assemble in the auditorium Wednesday evening . . . When everyone leaves the building it is easy to overlook the glass door at the end of the hall leading from the main building to the annex. If you are among the last to leave, please check this door to be sure it is locked. It must be locked with a key . . . If you do not have a key to the building and wish to have one (e.g. for early entrance or access during the week), see Ennis Osteen . . .  Though we do not mention their names each week in the bulletin or in the announcements, those who suffer chronic physical affliction are no less in need of our prayers and concern. Letıs not forget them! . . . Volunteers continue to work throughout the week on special projects at the building. Thanks to all who have contributed time, effort, and/or money in the past weeks to spruce up our meeting place! It sure is looking good, isn't it? There are yet things to be done and we will publish a list of some of these "To Do" projects . . .  If you would like to have a special study with Ross on some Bible subject, we will try to schedule a time that is workable for both you and him . . . Bibles and song books are being mailed to brethren in the Philippines. If you have any Sacred Selections song books at home you do not use and would like to contribute, see Wally Ottersbach or bring them to the building.
