Why I should WANT to be at the assemblies
and classes of the church
- These are team efforts for the good of the team and I am part of the team: "with
one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel" Php. 1:27.
- Out of consideration for my fellow brothers and sisters in Christ -- to encourage them: "let
us consider how to stimulate one another . . . not forsaking our own assembling
together..but encouraging one another" Heb. 10:24-25.
- To grow in knowledge and faith in the word and will of God: "they met with the
church, and taught considerable numbers..." Acts 11:26; "faith comes from
hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ" Rom. 10:17.
- To be an example -- to my family, my brethren, and my friends: "join in
following my example, and observe those who walk according to the pattern you have in
us" Php. 3:17; "in speech, conduct, love, faith and purity, show yourself
an example of those who believe" 1 Tim. 4:12.
- To worship God -- He is deserving! "Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive
power and riches and wisdom and might and honor and glory and blessing." Rev
5:12.
- To cooperate with the those who are charged with watching over your soul: "Obey
your leaders, and submit to them, for they keep watch over your souls . . ." Heb.
13:17.

will be encouraging capable and godly men to participate for their own growth and for the

demonstrate ability and desire to preach God's Word, two of these men, Kris Emerson
and David Osteen, will rotate speaking on the second Sunday evening of each month
. . . WEDNESDAY EVENING CLOSE: The elders also would like to encourage and
will be encouraging the men of the congregation to participate in bringing a short message
of edification from God's Word in the five minutes or so at the end of our Wednesday
evening assembly. A list is published in today's Humble Messenger and the
list will also be posted in the foyer. Check the list to see when you are scheduled. If
