Voices of Trouble

Listen to voices of families in trouble . . . and people in trouble with God . . .

"Youıre stupid!"

"But I say to you that everyone who is angry with his brother shall be guilty before the court; and whoever shall say to his brother, OERaca,ı shall be guilty before the supreme court; and whoever shall say, OEYou fool,ı shall be guilty enough to go into the fiery hell." Mt 5:22.

"I hate you."

"Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself up for her." Eph. 5:25. "Love your enemies and do goodŠexpecting nothing in return." Lk. 6:35. "She does him good and not evil all the days of his lifeŠthe teaching of kindness is on her tongue." Pro. 31:12,26.

"You #&@+%T!!!"

"A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger. The tongue of the wise makes knowledge acceptable, but the mouth of fools spouts folly. The eyes of the LORD are in every place, watching the evil and the good. A soothing tongue is a tree of life, but perversion in it crushes the spirit." Pro 15:1-4. "And I say to you, that every careless word that men shall speak, they shall render account for it in the day of judgment. For by your words you shall be justified, and by your words you shall be condemned." Mt. 12:36,37.

"I wish I had never married you!"

"There is one who speaks rashly like the thrusts of a sword, but the tongue of the wise brings healing." Pro. 12:18. "My soul is among lions; I must lie among those who breathe forth fire, even the sons of men, whose teeth are spears and arrows, and their tongue a sharp sword." Psa. 57:4. "But no one can tame the tongue; it is a restless evil and full of deadly poison. With it we bless our Lord and Father; and with it we curse men, who have been made in the likeness of God; from the same mouth come both blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not to be this way." Jam. 3:8-10.

"Get out!" "Iım leaving!"

"But I say to you that everyone who divorces his wife, except for the cause of unchastity, makes her commit adultery." Mt. 5:32. "But to the married I give instructions, not I, but the Lord, that the wife should not leave her husband" 1 Co. 7:10. "What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate." Mt. 19:6. "ıFor I hate divorce,ı says the LORD, the God of Israel." Mal. 2:16.

"I donıt care what the Bible says."

"But to the wicked God says, OEŠ you hate discipline, and you cast My words behind youŠYou let your mouth loose in evil, and your tongue frames deceitŠYou slander ŠThese things you have done, and I kept silence; you thought that I was just like you; I will reprove you, and state the case in order before your eyes. Now consider this, you who forget God, lest I tear you in pieces, and there be none to deliver." Psa. 50:16-22.

Compare the above to what we vowed:

"I...in the presence of God and these witnesses... solemnly vow to thee...to take thee from this day forward...as my lawfully wedded wife/husband... for better or for worse...to have and hold as my very own...to love you in sickness or in health... in prosperity or adversity...to cherish and to honor you... and forsaking all others...to keep myself for you and you alone... until death do us part."
