Henry's Lunar Images
Here is a compendium of all the Lunar images taken so far. I
plan to update this page periodically with new ones. For me,
the moon is still an exciting place to visit, and I regularly
visit it during full moon cycles when faint objects are not
visible. This images are in reverse chronological order.
Most all of these images were taken afocally using:
Sony DSC-S70 Camera with Scopetronix digi-T adapter. Early on,
I was using my 114mm Newtonian, but switched to the Orion
10" dobs later. Sometimes I use a Celestron Moon Filter
to control the brightness.
As time as progressed, I began using much higher resolution
than the earlier shots. Many of the earlier images are just as they
were taken, but I did adjust the brightness and/or contrast on
a couple that were too dark or too light.
As of Dec 2004, I have acquired more skills in image processing
and I now routinely adjust the sharpness, contrast and midtones
using Paint Shop Pro.

( p.s. The newer images are now much better than the older ones!)
This first set of images were all taken afocally with the Sony SX-70 using
the Digi-T mount to a 25mm lens. I use basically the same settings on
the Sony, manually setting shutter speed to 1/250 and letting the fstop
auto set. It usually uses f2.0.
I took these in December 2004 from by backyard in Kingwood.
This next set is the original older set, also shot
with the Sony SX-70. Not as good as the recent ones.
These pictures were taken in May 2004 also from my
backyard in Kingwood.
