Karin Magleby is a recent transplant to the Houston area.  She is originally from American Fork, Utah, where she was first exposed to Bluegrass music - mainly instrumental standards.  Karin graduated from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, in 2004.  She currently teaches high school French here in Houston, and thoroughly enjoys playing Bluegrass music with Cypress Creek on the weekends.  Her biggest influences in the Bluegrass-music world have been Alison Krause and the band McKenzie Bridge.  Karin is glad to be in Houston, and is thoroughly enjoying learning about y'all's fun Texan quirks.  She hopes to be in the area for at least another year.
